Sincerely,

Last week, you received the first portion of my top-10 powerfoods. Let's recap on what those were! If you want the full detailed information on each of these five foods, check out last weeks article! My first 5 foods were:
1) Oats 2) Quinoa 3) Avocado 4) Cinnamon 5) Kale
I encourage that everyone try and include all of these foods in their diet as often as possible, for optimal So what are the other 5 foods that will complete this list?
6) Flaxseed Flaxseed is becoming more and more popular in today's diet, and for good reason! These seeds are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. Not only that, they are high in vitamin B1, tryptophan, magnesium and fibre. Definitely a power food! Flax seed has been linked to many amazing health benefits, such as inflammation control, bone health, management of hot flashes, blood pressure regulation, cholesterol management and even protection against heart disease, cancer and diabetes! So be sure to get your fresh flax seed, grind yourself a weekly dose, keep it refrigerated, and enjoy these amazing health benefits daily!
Truestar's Supplement Solution: Try TrueOmega, for those Omega 3 essential fatty acids, or TrueBasic for Men or Women, for those omega-3's PLUS all of your daily multivitamins and minerals!
7) Green Tea Green tea is the newest hype. So the questions is, is the hype worth it? My answer, a definite YES. Of all the teas, green tea is one of the least processed teas and therefore provides the strongest antioxidant profile, and contains the least amount of caffeine. It's rich in "flavonoids," which give it that amazing antioxidant ability. Green tea has son many powerful health beenfits, and it's role in cancer treatment and prevention is being highly researched. One of the most amazing things is that studies find Green tea to be protective against death from any causes, but especially cardiovascular disease! It may even speed recovery after a heart attack, and minimize damage to the brain after a stroke. The European Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2006) reported that green tea is a healthier choice than almost any other beverage. Even 1 cup a day can give you these amazing health benefits, although in China, the average is 3 cups daily. So enjoy your green tea, guilt free!
8) Almonds Almonds are definitely one of my most favourite power foods, and fortunately, taste delicious! Almonds are technically seeds, not nuts, and are extremely high in the key nutrients manganese, Vitamin E, tryptophan, copper and vitamin B2, as well as being an excellent source of healthy fats. These ingredients contribute to the almonds role in cholesterol management, diabetes, cardiovascular health, and eating almonds actually lowers your risk of weight gain! So don't fear that eating almonds, especially if you care looking for improving your heart health.

9) Olive Oil Aside from being a great tasting cooking tool, olive oil has amazing health benefits. It's blends of different forms of healthy fats have made Olive Oil helpful in regulation of LDL or "bad" cholesterol, a reduction in blood pressure, inflammatory modulation, and research has even linked it to cancer prevention. Olive oil intake has also been linked to bone health, and even cognitive benefits. And make sure to get your olive oil extra-virgin, because processing does make a difference when it comes to this oils amazing health benefits.

10) Garlic My final power food is garlic. I come from an Italian background, so this food was a staple in my household , and a good thing too! Not only does it add incredible flavor to...everything, but it's wonderful for your health. Many people are aware of the cardiovascular benefits of garlic, but on top of that, it helps the body to make use of iron effectively, it works as an inflammatory modulator, and is antibacterial and antiviral, meaning it can help to fight infections! It has even been linked to cancer prevention! So add this to your diet daily, and get chopping. Chopping and crushing the garlic actually activates the components in the garlic that give it those health benefits.
Truestar's Supplement Solution: TrueJoint Support, for additional assistance for inflammation
That's the complete list of my all-time favourite foods that taste great and have incredible health benefits. So get cooking!
